  25. I had this problem. I attended to two points and my problem went away.

  27. 1. Though I had 6Mb of free ram, a friend told me "AMosaic can easily
  28.    fill 6Mb", so I changed the work dir to a hard disk partition
  29.    which has about 100Mb free. I've no idea how much space it actually
  30.    uses.

  32. 2. I ensured that the work dir prefs entry ended in a slash "/"
  33.  
  34. So here is my line in Env:mosaic/prefs
  35.       TempDir              Dev:Mosaic-work/

  37. One of the problems I had with setting up AMosaic was the lack of
  38. coherent docs.  There were small doc files in html format which I
  39. couldn't read easily without using Mosaic.  But I couldn't run Mosaic if
  40. AmiTCP wasn't running.  But I couldn't start AmiTCP without connecting to
  41. my ISP.  And I didn't know how to fetch the more extensive docs without
  42. knowing how to run AMosaic.  It's a chicken & 2 eggs situation. Took me
  43. a week to sort it all out with help from others.
